對於 COMME des GARÇONS 的忠實者來說,一如往常「黑」是品牌的指標色,而眼前熟悉的輪廓和支離破碎也早已是經典之舉。而 COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS 則是由川久保玲主導,相較於其他主線,COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS 更具有天馬行空的玩心,也是最能表現川久保玲風格的男裝支線,亦可直接視為 COMME des GARÇONS 的男裝版本。黑色、破壞、不對襯這個蘊有前瞻創意性的「反叛」就存在於 Comme des Garcons 的 DNA ,若僅用「龐克」二字就帶過的話太過表面,川久保玲仍再繼續尋找浪潮地前衛可能。

而 COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS 春夏 21 系列以「Metal Outlaw」為主題,除了標誌「黑」的 COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS 元素,本季更是採用閃亮的金屬銀色、立體紡織品貫穿單品。例如:貼身西裝外套、休閒褲和短裙都以這種反光色調出現,其他部分如襯衫、紳士外衫則使用源於衣板概念地建築架構,並且用對比縫線加強可視程度。COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS 不僅蘊有前瞻創意性,同時視覺對比,亦突出了此系列的個性。

除此之外,川久保玲曾在受訪中表示:「雖因 COVID-19 關係,作品僅在 COMME des GARÇONS 東京總址(南青山)展示,但閱圖仍能感受到時裝衝擊力。而我希望藉由金屬的強度來傳達我們不會在任何壓力或作用力下屈服,以及克服現在面臨的各種困難在這方面相互重疊。」

「我經常在室內設計中使用的金屬材料,這次我想將這種強度的金屬移植到衣服上。當然,我們在該系列中使用的織物實際上不是由任何金屬製成,僅是呈現出金屬意象、重量感以及光澤感。」
